Liege

Reed and I spent the day in Liege, my home town.  A perfect date with a perfect mate!

Liege is candidate to the 2017 World Expo. The Tour de France started in Liege this year (yes, it's in Belgium, but the French have never been great at geography!)

These last pictures were of the Palais de Justice or Court House. It used to be the Arch Bishops' Palace.

This whole street belonged to my great-great-grand parents. They were tailors and had quite a bit of money back in the days. All the houses here were theirs. I know that one of the relatives, even in the 70's, had to go collect the rent on the 1st of the month, because they were so poor that by the 2nd, the money would not be there anymore!  All I have left from this money is a medallion!  My great- grandpa was not very frugal, he loved Paris and women!!!

I'm kind of a superstar in Liege, didn't you know?

It's pretty funny to go home and yet, totally look like a tourist!

Here is the second volume of my dad's latest book.  Paroles d'Exode

We found our dream house, about 1 mile from my parents. Love love love that house! If only I played the lottery!
Our trip is over, I will put a few more pictures in the next day or two.  We are now back in AZ.  Saying goodbye was hard as usual. We had a wonderful month and while sitting in our pool this afternoon, with 91 degrees in the water, 112 out of it, I can't help but wonder why we came back?!!!

Plopsa Coo

We went to an amusement park in Belgium.  It was really fun and pretty and green and sunny and cool and we had lots of fun.  The main characters are from a cartoon, we had no idea who it was, which only proved to be a real problem when I was lost in the maze and the only way out was by answering questions to unlock the doors.  Let's just say you are lucky I made it out alive!

We met up with some good friends.

I need this for my pool!

Cortina tiger

La cascade de Coo is the only waterfall in Belgium.  All the bozos that tried kayaking down it drowned, it's more wicked than it looks! I wasn't tempted...as we all know, anything that makes my body move on top of water ends up in disaster!

Long day with tired feet!

I was thinking of taking some perfect pictures of the kids in front of the fall, like Christmas ready type...then I remembered I had a little tiger with me!
It was a perfect day!

Bouillon, medieval castle

Another day, another visit.  The Castle of Bouillon dates back from at least 988 AD, however, it might be even be older.  It first belonged to Godfroy of Bouillon, who left for the crusades in early 1000.  It has all that an old castle could have, torture chambers, dungeons and  fowls.

Such a treat for a claustrophobic like me!!!
Tickle room

The time out room

So tempted to push her, but then I'd end up in the dungeon for life!

The Falconer

The powder room, as in where they store the powder and not as in where the queen did her make-up!

Water storage, beats my 72 hour kit!

Onto the next adventure...but we are coming to an end soon unfortunately :(
